Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking an Accounting Manager for a 12-month contract in Mississauga, in-office five days a week.

You will oversee daily accounting functions, prepare consolidated statements, and supervise the accounting team while coordinating audits and internal controls.

The role requires CPA designation and 5+ years of accounting experience with supervisory background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and an active CPA designation.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions including AP/AR, reconciliations, cash handling, fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly and annual consolidated financial statements and board reports.
• Review monthly journal entries for accruals, leases, investment activity, intercompany transfers.
• Lead external audit preparation and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Supervise and coach accounting team and drive system/workflow improvements.
• Deliver reports for Finance Committee and support ad hoc financial projects.

Job description

Our client, a major player in the CPG industry, is looking for an Accounting Manager for a 12-month contract with the potential for extension. This role is in office 5 days a week in Mississauga.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee daily accounting functions including AP/AR, reconciliations, cash handling, fixed assets, and bi-weekly payroll and benefits.
• Prepare monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, board reports, annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Review monthly journal entries for accruals, commercial leases, investment activity, and intercompany transfers.
• Lead external audit preparation, serve as the primary liaison for auditors and the CRA, handle insurance renewals, and enforce internal controls.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate the accounting team while identifying financial system and workflow improvements.
• Deliver reports for Finance Committee meetings and support ad hoc financial projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and an active CPA designation (or be in the final stages of completion).
• Possess 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
