About Our Client

Our client, located in Mississauga, is hiring a Finance Manager for a permanent position. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will act as a key business partner and the CFO’s right hand across all areas of accounting and finance. This is a standalone, hands-on individual-contributor role with no direct reports. Supervisory experience is not required. The successful candidate will enjoy taking ownership, working across multiple priorities and contributing to projects beyond traditional accounting duties.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day accounting and finance activities
• Complete the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and account reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial-planning activities
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting and recommendations to the CFO
• Support cash-flow management, working-capital analysis and financial decision-making
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Coordinate audit, tax and regulatory requirements with external advisors
• Partner with operational leaders and provide financial insight across the organization
• Participate in process-improvement, system implementation and other special projects
• Take on evolving responsibilities based on the needs of the CFO and the business

Qualifications

• Canadian CPA designation is required
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Strong experience with financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Comfortable working independently in a hands-on, standalone role
• Broad accounting and finance experience rather than a narrowly specialized background
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system
• Experience working within a large or complex organization
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working directly with senior leadership
