Position
  • Accounting Manager
  • Full Time, Salaried
  • Huntsville, Ontario, Canada
The Accounting Manager oversees the organization’s day-to-day financial operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations. They ensure timely reporting, government compliance, and support for month- and year-end processes. This role also partners with departments to strengthen financial procedures and build team capability through training and guidance.
Responsibilities
  • Financial Recourse Management
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Timely Payment of Vendors, Visa, Expense Reports & Cheque Requests
  • Bank Statement Reconciliation
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, sales tax computations, and other accounting duties in a timely manner.
  • Year End donations receipts, T4s, T5s, and other government account filings
  • Support MBC departments in all financial and accounting procedures, and be willing to go to the department to help with training
  • Build competence within the team, taking time to explain procedures
  • Payroll completed on time, and accurate, completing ROEs as needed
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers (ie. Paying Invoices on time, making updates to accounts as needed etc).

Education/Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of clerical accounting experience
  • Knowledge of basic financial management, tax, and accounting principles
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting would be an asset but is not required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Point of Sale and registration software

  • Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy by being aware of your responsibilities and act accordingly; working in the safest possible manner
