The Accounting Manager oversees the organization’s day-to-day financial operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations. They ensure timely reporting, government compliance, and support for month- and year-end processes. This role also partners with departments to strengthen financial procedures and build team capability through training and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Financial Recourse Management
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Timely Payment of Vendors, Visa, Expense Reports & Cheque Requests
- Bank Statement Reconciliation
- Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, sales tax computations, and other accounting duties in a timely manner.
- Year End donations receipts, T4s, T5s, and other government account filings
- Support MBC departments in all financial and accounting procedures, and be willing to go to the department to help with training
- Build competence within the team, taking time to explain procedures
- Payroll completed on time, and accurate, completing ROEs as needed
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers (ie. Paying Invoices on time, making updates to accounts as needed etc).

Education/Experience
- Minimum 3 years of clerical accounting experience
- Knowledge of basic financial management, tax, and accounting principles
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting would be an asset but is not required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Point of Sale and registration software
