Job summary

Mercana invites applications for a 3-6 month Accounting Intern role in AP, AR & Collections based in Surrey, BC. This in-person internship offers hands-on exposure to import invoicing, vendor reconciliations, and customer invoicing across wholesale and e-commerce channels.

You will work under senior Finance staff, develop practical knowledge of end-to-end accounting and month-end processes, and complete a final-term project with mentorship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in final year of a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or a recent graduate.
• Coursework in financial accounting; CPA designation is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Exposure to accounting software; training provided for Dynamics 365 Business Central or Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Process import and container invoices for US/Canada; reconcile invoices to payments.
• Support customer invoicing, payment postings and collections across wholesale and e-commerce channels.
• Prepare reconciliations and journal entries; observe month-end close.
• Document AP/AR workflows and contribute to process improvement using AI/automation.
