Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is seeking an Accounting Co-op Student for a 4-month term at our Truro, NS headquarters. You will support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Corporate Accounting while contributing to month-end activities and audits.

You will gain hands-on experience in a multinational setting, with exposure to various accounting functions and process-improvement projects. This internship emphasizes training, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary accounting or related business program.
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
• Ability to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams with daily transaction processing and related activities
• Assist the Corporate Accounting team with routine accounting functions and administrative support
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support internal and external audit processes by gathering documentation and responding to requests
• Assist with accounting-related projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a high standard of integrity, efficiency, and professionalism
• Promote a respectful, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment
• Adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality of financial information
