Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is seeking an Accounting Co-op Student for a 4-month contract term based at our Truro, NS Headquarters. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position provides hands-on experience within the accounting department of a multinational organization.

The successful candidate will support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Corporate Accounting functions while contributing to month-end activities, audits, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and expand accounting knowledge.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary accounting or related business program.
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams with daily transaction processing and related activities.
• Assist the Corporate Accounting team with routine accounting functions and administrative support.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audit processes by gathering documentation and responding to requests.
• Assist with accounting-related projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental commitments.
• Promote a respectful, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain a high standard of integrity, efficiency, and professionalism.
