Job description

Our client a boutique law firm in downtown Vancouver is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk to join their team. Specializing in tax estate and trust planning and administration as well as related litigation. This role offers opportunities for professional development and growth.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated enthusiastic multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment enjoys challenging work and is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service. This position will support the Chief Operating Officer and the Trust / AP Clerk with a variety of accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable accounts receivable payroll billing and corporate accounting tasks.
  • Post and follow up on BC Online LTSA and Docusign disbursements.
  • Process expense reimbursements cheque and credit card payments.
  • Handle daily bank deposits and A / R write-offs.
  • Process payroll and post related journal entries.
  • Prepare trust cheques and collect signatures.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and tax remittances.
  • Distribute monthly financial reports.
  • Administer and audit safekeeping on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with audits or independent reviews.
  • Maintain organized and accurate electronic accounting files.
  • Provide overflow support for accounts payable and other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of an accounting certificate or diploma is required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with accounting software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a high-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and attitude.
