Here's how an Accounting Clerk for our Toronto District office, located in Oakville, ON, contributes to our team:

  • Supports the accounting team by collecting, reconciling, and seeking approval and processes through PCL business systems general vendor payments as requested, in a timely and accurate manner to meet payment terms and conditions.
  • Understands and complies with all labor provider agreements, government legislation, PCL policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Prepares bank deposits and subsequent cash receipt entries where required.
  • Edit, proofread, and format documents/presentations in Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint.
  • Manage and monitor schedules and documents for the accounting department.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline an asset.
  • Some co-op experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting and/or administration experience an asset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation required to maintain and submit all necessary documentation and meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge and/or experience with accounting software an asset.
