Job summary

Morgan Construction & Environmental Ltd. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support day-to-day accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and regulatory filings.

This full-time, in-office role provides exposure to a broad range of corporate accounting functions and the opportunity to contribute to internal controls and process improvements. The successful candidate has a minimum of five years' progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial software.
• Construction, project-based, or industrial industry experience is asset.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting working papers.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and continuity schedules.
• Support the full-cycle accounting and reporting process across Morgan and its affiliate entities.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Prepare GST, HST, PST, and other regulatory filings, including supporting schedules and documentation.
• Prepare audit working papers and support external audit requests.
• Support the administration of the company's employee expense management program, including SAP Concur user maintenance, policy compliance monitoring, issue resolution, and employee support.
