We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. This role will initially focus on covering Accounts Receivable (AR) for a 6–12 month maternity leave and then transition into a broader Accounting Associate position with long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities – Phase 1: AR Focus (First 6–12 Months)
- Manage invoicing, customer follow-ups, and payment processing
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor AR aging and support collections efforts
- Maintain detailed records of client transactions and communications
- Assist with cash application and month-end AR reporting
Key Responsibilities – Ongoing Role: Accounting Associate
- Full-cycle accounting activities (AP, AR, GL entries)
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other GL accounts
- File government remittances (GST/HST, payroll taxes, etc.)
- Maintain organized and compliant financial records
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
- Support internal controls and assist with policy development
- Other activities supporting the Finance Manager as needed
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in full-cycle accounting, ideally in a small or medium-sized business
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP system experience preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- CPA designation or working toward CPA is preferred
