General Description
The individual for this role will report to the Accounting Manager, Residential Development, and is responsible for processing AP, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and HST returns with the residential development portfolio in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping entries and maintain the general ledger
  • Support the AP function by processing invoices and payments in a timely manner, reconcile vendor accounts, and resolve invoice issues/discrepancies
  • Prepare inter-company chargeback invoices, reconcile chargeback accounts monthly
  • Perform the monthly bank reconciliations for the portfolio
  • Perform monthly HST reconciliations, file HST returns, and ensure remittances for each project are completed on a timely basis
  • Record all cash receipts and manage the AR function for the portfolio
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • College/University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or AP, preferably in a high-volume environment in the construction industry
  • Experience in NEWSTAR Enterprise required
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel skills would be a strong asset
  • Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize and execute multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to leverage your enjoyment of accounting to work effectively with limited supervision as a valued member of our team
