Job summary

A leading company in community services is seeking an Accountant to manage project accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Power BI. This temporary position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Experience with Power BI and Power Query required.

Responsibilities

• Perform project-based accounting functions and manage project budgets.
• Ensure accuracy of invoicing and maintain expense reports.
• Assist with audit tasks and month-end closing processes.

Job description

• Perform all project-based accounting functions
• Ensure all invoicing is submitted accurately and on time
• Verify expense coding
• Manage project deadlines from a finance standpoint
• Maintain project budget and perform variance analysis
• Deal with both internal and external stakeholders
• Journal entries
• Assist with audit-based tasks as it relates to the project
• Month end closing – finalizing financial activity for the month
• Expense Analysis – identify areas for cost reduction
• Reconciliations
• Month end preparation

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience with accounting – preference will be given to candidates with project accounting experience
• Must have experience with power bi and power query
• Advanced level excel skills are a must
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• College or university diploma/degree within accounting or finance required
