Job summary

Recruiting In Motion - Eastern Ontario is seeking a talented Accountant to support accounting, financial reporting, cash flow and forecasting within a large public-sector environment. This hybrid role may move to five days in the office in the future.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation and a university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Proficiency in GAAP, Advanced Excel and Sage 300/ACCPAC is required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general accounting and financial reporting, cash flow and forecasting.
• Experience working within a large government/public-sector organization.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sage 300 / ACCPAC.
• Experience with procurement and purchase order systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Excellent communication, analytical and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly GL and balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll, AP accruals, fixed assets and capital accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and monthly account analyses.
• Support weekly, monthly and annual cash flow reporting and forecasting.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements, including schedules, analysis and supporting documentation.
• Support Finance projects involving process, system and procedure improvements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and respond to accounting, reporting and financial process inquiries.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis and ad hoc reporting as required.

Key Responsibilities
