Independent Corrugator Inc. (ICI) in Mississauga seeks an Accountant to manage the company’s financial reporting, cash flow and inventory valuation with a focus on strong controls and timely statements.

The role supports the Director of Finance, coordinates insurance and audits, and mentors Payroll/AR/AP activities. Hybrid work arrangement is offered, and ACA candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two plus years related experience (manufacturing preferred).
• Working towards CPA is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage all financial information and reporting systems; ensure timely reporting.
• Responsible for financial month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare and maintain audit trail, cash flow, AR & AP, bank reconciliations, inventory valuation and statutory filings; report to regulatory bodies.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for review.
• Assist Director of Finance with data for monthly, quarterly and annual meetings; forecast revenues and expenditures.
• Provide written comments for financial statements and respond to queries from the Director of Finance.
• Coordinate insurances with outside providers.
• Coordinate year end audit with outside auditors.
• Mentor for Payroll and AR/AP functions; provide coverage for other finance roles.
• Ad-hoc projects as required.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing the company's financial reporting, cash flow, and inventory valuation processes. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial information, safeguards company assets through effective treasury and risk management practices, oversees cash management and reporting, and maintains the integrity of inventory valuation to support reliable financial reporting and business decision-making. The position also works to minimize financial risks, including bad debts, while ensuring adequate insurance coverage and strong financial controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all financial information and reporting systems, such as flutes and AccPacc (Accounting). Evaluate systems regularly to ensure their continued suitability, effectiveness and timeliness.
• Responsible for financial month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare and regularly maintain the audit trail, cash flow, AR & AP, bank reconciliation, Inventory valuation and reconciliation, sales taxes, incentive and commission plan, and all financial statements including statutory filings and the reporting of corporate information to the various regulatory bodies. Conduct regular internal audits, to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain Balance sheet reconciliations and Journal entries for review.
• Assist Director of Finance with the preparation of the financial data required for monthly, quarterly and annual meetings; compilation of data covering the anticipated revenues and expenditures in future periods to estimate the financial condition of the company.
• Provide written comments for financial statements and timely answers to queries from the Director of Finance concerning company accounts and daily cash monitoring.
• Coordinate insurances with outside providers.
• Coordinate year end audit with outside auditors.
• Mentor for Payroll and AR/AP functions on daily basis
• Vacation coverage/back up for other finance functions as needed.
• Other ad-hoc projects as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's degree: and/or two plus years related experience (manufacturing preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working towards CPA is an asset

WORK LOCATION:

Hybrid: 4 days on site and 1 day remote.
