RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC. is seeking an Accountant to support project accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for an infrastructure build-out project and ongoing operations in Calgary.

The role reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and focuses on day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and accurate financial records. You will collaborate with operations, leadership, auditors, and finance teams to ensure compliance with IFRS, manage fixed assets, and deliver timely reports.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with fixed assets and project accounting preferred.
  • Exposure to capital-intensive industries is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and working papers.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, capital projects, and asset reconciliations.
  • Monitor revenue, operating expenses, accruals, and cost allocations while supporting accounting analysis.
  • Assist with IFRS financial reporting, lender reporting, covenant calculations, and management requests.
  • Prepare audit documentation and support external audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Assist with cash reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, and treasury activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and international finance partners to support reporting and compliance initiatives.

Job description

Our client is seeking an Accountant to support project accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for its infrastructure build out project and ongoing operations. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role is responsible for day-to-day operational accounting, project accounting, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, leadership, auditors, and finance teams to maintain accurate financial records and support a growing business.
