Job summary

Unknown is seeking a General Accountant to join its finance team in Vaughan. The role focuses on building a technical foundation while gaining exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end processes, and multi-entity accounting operations.

Reporting to the General Ledger Manager, you will support financial reporting, journal entries, and analysis, collaborating with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate records and support ongoing reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing completion.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Experience working with ERP or financial reporting systems is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with high attention to detail and analysis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Exposure to multi-entity or distribution environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries and general ledger transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations and review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including financial reporting and analysis.
• Assist in preparing trial balances, balance sheets, and other standard financial reports.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting files.
• Investigate discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather information and support financial processes.
• Provide day-to-day accounting and administrative support to the finance team.
• Contribute to process improvements and support ongoing operational initiatives as needed.
