Job summary

Jobtailor in Montreal, QC seeks an experienced accountant to manage journal entries, month-end close, and year-end audit support. You will analyze payroll P&L, collaborate on ERP improvements, and ensure accurate financial reporting across compensation and revenue streams.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation with at least five years of accounting experience, is fluent in French and English, and proficient in Excel and ERP systems. On-site role with ongoing training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for assets and liabilities and reconcile accounts.

• Deliver ad hoc projects and coordinate with supervisor for training.

Job description

• Prepare journal entries for assets, liabilities, and other accounts by analyzing accounting information and preparing supporting schedules
• Respond to questions regarding accounting procedures by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations
• Participate in the month-end close process
• Assist with the year-end audit process
• Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and business processes
• Analyze monthly payroll P&L accounts
• Handle ad hoc projects
• Oversee accounting and financial operations related to the company’s compensation and revenue streams, reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting
• Attend remote and in-person training sessions and weekly meetings with the direct supervisor

Requirements

• CPA designation
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
• Knowledge of Microsoft D365, Power BI, Power Query, and Power Pivot is an asset
