Account Resolution Specialist (Commercial Collections)

This is an onsite position. We are relocating to Mississauga, and during the transition, you'll have the flexibility to work from both our Aurora and Mississauga offices. For the first few months, some time in Aurora will be helpful for onboarding and training.

What you will do

Become a member of a fast-paced, energetic, and crucial team at VFS. You will support our customers and dealers in all phases of retail account management and account resolution for VFS Trucks, Construction Equipment, and Coach Portfolios. This role requires a high sense of urgency, organizational skills, energy, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with sales, credit, repossession, remarketing, end-of-term, special assets, accounting, legal, and capital market resources. In this onsite position, you will report to the Manager, Asset Management at our Mississauga office.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Display integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism, listening carefully to customers' needs and displaying empathy to provide the best service, escalating issues as needed.
  • Adhere to standards to identify and resolve commercial customer and dealer issues, including payout quotes, audit confirmations, plating letters, and account reconciliations.
  • Gather information and process documents for lease assumptions and loan takeovers.
  • Manage insurance processes, including certificates and compliance follow-up.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure delinquent payments and insurance irregularities are resolved promptly.
  • Identify causes of default or delinquency and negotiate payment arrangements, modifications, or repossession when necessary.
  • Make discretionary decisions on each account regarding the likelihood of success and necessary assistance.
Who are you?

We are looking for someone with:

  • BA/BS in Business or related field, or equivalent experience in financial services.
  • 3-5 years of asset management and/or collections experience in banking, lending, or leasing.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in English and French is preferred but not required.
