This position reports to

Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an Account Manager, you will develop, implement, and manage the account strategy, focusing on share of wallet growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You will coordinate sales activities, monitor current projects, and manage resolution of specific customer problems. This role contributes to the Electrification and Distribution Solutions divisions and is located in Alberta. The work model is 100% remote.

  1. Strategy: Understand key business drivers, including emerging risks such as Sustainability, Digital, and Cyber Security, and interpret their impact and opportunities for ABB. Participate in developing sales strategies based on the customer's current business and long-term plans. Lead the development and implementation of the account plan and growth actions.
  2. Targets: Define and propose sales targets for the account, ensuring achievement through structured follow-up across divisions and countries. Sell products, solutions, and services focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets.
  3. Marketing: Create added value for the customer and ABB by ensuring a coordinated sales approach, such as frame agreements and AVL-related actions.
  4. Market Knowledge: Monitor competitors' activity and formulate appropriate response strategies. Provide input on market price developments.
  5. Processes and tools: Drive the application of standardized marketing and sales processes and tools (e.g., Salesforce, account plans, AVLs) for the account.

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum of five years sales experience in the electrical industry.
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Business prospection.
  • Cold calling experience.
