Aviva Trial Lawyers seeks an Accident Benefits Litigation Clerk for our Toronto/Markham/Oakville office. Responsibilities include supporting a lawyer in accident benefit matters, with familiarity in tort litigation. This hybrid role involves clerking tasks and file management.

What You'll Do
  • Draft legal correspondence and documents, file court/tribunal documents per applicable rules.
  • Compile legal books and factums.
  • Manage discovery requests and summarize reports.
  • Coordinate investigations, medical examinations, and prepare briefs.
  • Maintain electronic files, update calendars, and manage internal databases.
  • Handle administrative tasks like booking travel and requisitioning cheques.
  • Liaise with counsel, external parties, and claims operations.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of legal assistant/law clerk experience in insurance defense or personal injury litigation.
  • Legal assistant or law clerk accreditation or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, ACL, Adobe, Kofax, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of relevant rules and ability to work paperless.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
