Aviva Trial Lawyers is seeking an Accident Benefits Litigation Clerk for our Toronto/Markham/Oakville office. In this role, you will support a lawyer with accident benefit matters and have familiarity with tort litigation. This is a hybrid position involving clerking tasks and daily file management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence, ensuring proper filing with courts and tribunals.
  • Compiling authorities and factums, managing discovery requests, and summarizing reports.
  • Arranging investigations, medical examinations, and maintaining electronic files.
  • Handling administrative tasks like scheduling, database updates, and liaising with external parties.

Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of legal assistant or law clerk experience in insurance defence or personal injury litigation.
  • Post-secondary legal qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, ACL, Adobe, Kofax, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of relevant rules and ability to work in a paperless environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and initiative skills.
