Job summary

Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking a 5G Software Designer to join the Baseband Infrastructure team in Ottawa. You will design, implement, and optimize components of the communication stack and develop the SDK used by application teams, ensuring robust APIs and clear documentation.

You will collaborate with hardware teams on silicon bring-up, validate functionality with simulation, and drive quality through extensive testing, code reviews, and performance analysis in an international context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C for performance-critical, multi-threaded systems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, build systems, and source control (Bazel, Jenkins, Git/Gerrit).
• Comfort with Scrum/Agile in a distributed global setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize components within the communication stack.
• Develop and maintain the platform SDK with clear APIs, docs, and sample code.
• Collaborate with hardware teams for silicon and board bring-up, using simulations.
• Own end-to-end quality via unit/integration tests, CI pipelines, reviews, and analysis.
• Profile and debug latency, throughput, memory, and concurrency issues.
