Job summary

Huawei Technologies Canada is seeking an Engineer for a 12-month contract in Ottawa. The role focuses on research at the physical layer for 5G, 6G and beyond, system-level design, modelling, simulation and prototyping of wireless radio systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D in wireless telecommunications, has strong C/C++ programming skills, and experience building end-to-end simulation tools for performance evaluation.

Qualifications

• Ph.D in wireless telecommunications or related field.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Experience designing end-to-end simulation tools for wireless systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research on physical layer technologies for 5G, 6G and beyond.
• System-level design, modelling, simulation and prototyping of wireless radio systems.
• Design and simulation of radio algorithms for advanced wireless technologies.
• Drive implementation of radio algorithms in hardware and software.
• Stay updated with 3GPP, IEEE and other standardization trends.
• Generate invention disclosures and support patent applications.
