Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking a senior software developer to join the L1 Software Development team in Ottawa. You will work on physical layer baseband features for 5G/6G, primarily in C/C++, Linux, and cloud-native environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in EE/CS/Communications/AI/ML or related field.

About this opportunity

Our L1 Software Development team sits within Ericsson's PEU RAN Performance. We design and implement Physical Layer Baseband functions; the foundational signal-processing engine that makes 5G work. We are responsible for implementing L1 across a wide spectrum of solutions, deployment scenarios, and frequencies specified in 3GPP standards. Our particular emphasis is on developing Physical Layer features tailored for COTS HW and cloud environments. We are looking for a curious, driven senior developer to join our world‑class L1 team in Ottawa. What you will do

As a member of the team, you will grow quickly by working on real product code alongside experienced engineers. Your day‑to‑day will include:

• Collaborating with our dedicated engineering team to design/systemize, develop, and maintain software components critical to our 5G and 6G products.
• Contributing to the enhancement of existing features and the development of new ones, with a focus on optimizing scalability, performance and reliability by taking full advantage of the evolving architectural and services inherent to a Cloud Native Platform.
• Participating in code reviews, testing, and other activities to uphold software quality standards.
• Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving software issues to maintain seamless product operation.
• Exploring cloud‑native platforms and learning how to optimize software for cloud and COTS hardware environments.
• Applying AI/ML tools and techniques to accelerate development, improve performance, and explore intelligent automation opportunities.

Your Pay

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is

Ottawa: $85,000 - $ 111,300

Short‑Term Variable Compensation Plan

Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro‑ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long‑term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two‑times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short‑term disability coverage. Your Time

Your work‑life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro‑rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
