Qualifications

• Third-year apprenticeship training and working toward your ticket.
• Experience with FCAW and GMAW; GTAW/TIG experience preferred for Journeyman level.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting welding equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW (TIG) welding on light-gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld specifications to ensure accurate results.
• Ensure all welds meet company quality requirements and industry standards.

We are seeking third-year Apprentice Welders who are actively working toward obtaining their welding ticket for our client. Candidates who meet these requirements will be considered at a starting pay rate of $36.90 per hour, plus applicable premiums. Shift: Days, Afternoons and Nights. Full-time work with Overtime Pay: $36.90+/hourly with shift premiums. Location: Carmek Dr area, Calgary, AB T1X 0J9. Overtime: Weekday and weekend availability required as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform high-quality FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW (TIG) welding on light-gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

What You Bring to the Team

• Minimum of third-year apprenticeship training and working towards your ticket
• Proven experience with FCAW and GMAW welding; GTAW/TIG experience is preferred for Journeyman-level candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting welding equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy production environment.
• Experience operating shears and press brakes is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements and Schedule

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime on weekdays and/or weekends as required.

Important Safety Requirement – Respirator Use

This position requires the use of a respirator for certain tasks. To ensure proper fit and protection, employees must be clean-shaven in areas where the respirator seals against the face, in accordance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements. Compliance with this safety requirement is mandatory for this role.
