Job summary

Tri-Mach Group in Elmira, Ontario is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to support electrical operations within the Tri-Mach Group facility. You will work hands-on with licensed Electricians on installations, maintenance, and panel work, contributing to safe and efficient facility operations.

The role offers practical mentorship, exposure to industrial electrical systems, and opportunities to advance skills through formal training and certifications while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; related college diploma, certificate, or electrical training considered an asset.
  • Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory, wiring and safe work procedures.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and blueprints.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and testing equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Electricians with electrical installations, wiring, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Fabricate, test, and modify electrical control panels under supervision.
  • Run conduit and cable tray, pull wires, mount devices, and install panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and layouts.
  • Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and electrical modifications.
  • Diagnose electrical issues with appropriate testing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Maintain organized tools, materials, and work areas.
  • Follow safety standards, lockout/tagout and company policies.
  • Learn and develop skills through hands-on training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and shop floor staff.

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to support electrical operations within the Tri-Mach Industries facility. The successful candidate will work hands-on alongside licensed Electricians to assist with electrical installations and maintenance for projects and facility. Tasks may include equipment wiring, testing, modification, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems. This role provides practical training and mentorship in an industrial environment while supporting safe, high-quality work across the facility. It is crucial that our Electrical Apprentice promotes a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist licensed Electricians with electrical installations, wiring, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance within the Tri-Mach Industries facility.
  • Fabricate, test, and modify electrical control panels under the guidance and direction of licensed Electricians.
  • Assist with running conduit and cable tray, pulling wire and cables, mounting and terminating devices, installing panels, and completing electrical connections in accordance with applicable standards and company procedures.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, blueprints, panel layouts, and related technical documentation.
  • Support machine and equipment upgrades, retrofits, and electrical modifications as directed.
  • Assist with diagnosing electrical issues by using appropriate testing equipment and following the direction of licensed Electricians.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on electrical systems, panels, equipment, and related components to support safe and reliable facility operations.
  • Maintain organized tools, materials, parts, and work areas to support efficient and safe electrical work.
  • Follow all electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, applicable regulations, and company health and safety policies.
  • Learn and develop technical skills in electrical installation, industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and panel building through hands-on training and mentorship.
  • Work closely with licensed Electricians, systems team members, engineering teammates, project managers, and shop floor staff to support facility electrical requirements.
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
  • All other duties as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

§ Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice

§ High School Diploma or equivalent; related college diploma, certificate, or electrical training considered an asset

§ Basic understanding of electrical theory, electrical systems, wiring practices, and safe work procedures

§ Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and blueprints

§ Willingness to learn and develop skills in industrial electrical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and controls

§ Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment considered an asset

§ Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to follow direction from licensed Electricians

§ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

§ Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment with engineering teammates, licensed Electricians, and shop floor staff

Salary Range For The Role:

$27.00 - $32.00
