Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a 3rd Class Power Engineer to operate, maintain and monitor the steam plant and associated systems at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. The role covers repairs and routine maintenance, ensuring continuous energy production for the facility in a 24-hour rotating shift pattern.

Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer & Assistant Manager, you will perform duties within regulatory guidelines and travel to other sites as required.

Qualifications

• Requires 3rd Class Power Engineer license.
• In-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems.
• Previous building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of labor and safety codes.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and monitor steam plant equipment.
• Support facility maintenance as regulations permit.
• Oversee energy production during shifts.
• Travel to other sites as needed.
