Job summary

Strike Group is looking for an Apprentice Pipefitter to support piping installations and maintenance at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant, north of Conklin, AB. You will read drawings, assist journeypersons, and perform piping assembly in modules and compressor packages.

Must be a registered 3rd or 4th year apprentice with CSTS/H2S Alive tickets or willing to obtain them. The role includes camp accommodations, travel allowance per shift, and a strict safety culture aligned with Strike Group

Qualifications

• Must be a registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
• Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets.
• Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing required.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

Position Summary

Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, treating others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

• Site: Cenovus Christina Lake North plant, north of Conklin, AB
• Rotation: 8 on/6 off
• Pay: $300/shift travel allowance
• Camp accommodations provided
