Job summary

Ubisoft Montreal is seeking a skilled 3D Programmer to focus on rendering systems for the Assassin's Creed HEXE project. You will work with the Anvil Pipeline Rendering Team to keep the engine stable, efficient, and adaptable across current-gen consoles and PC.

You will contribute to the rendering engine, diagnose GPU hangs, optimize performance, and design solutions for consoles with limited hardware. Collaboration with distributed engine teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of real-time rendering systems (opaque rendering, shadows, post-processing, compute-based pipelines).
  • Hands-on experience shipping games on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Experience troubleshooting platform-specific rendering issues, including GPU hangs.
  • Proficiency with GPU profiling tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Ability to navigate large codebases and contribute to unfamiliar systems.
  • Experience with proprietary engines such as Anvil is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Toolmode and data generation pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with engine/pipeline teams across studios is an asset.
