Job summary

McDougall Energy is seeking a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technician based in our North Bay shop. You will service the internal fleet, perform safety inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and vehicle systems, while documenting work completed.

Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will join a team focused on safety, reliability, and customer service. A valid 310T license (or active apprenticeship) and a G class license are required, with travel as needed and a

Responsibilities

• Perform MTO safety inspections on tractors and trailers per regulations.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines, powertrains, electrical and aftertreatment systems (tractors).
• Inspect and service trailer systems: brakes, suspension, lighting, ABS, structure.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/pneumatic issues with appropriate tools and software.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance for fleet safety and reliability.
• Document inspections and repairs accurately in logs and reports.
• Identify parts and communicate repair needs for workflow efficiency.
• Conduct post-repair inspections and assist with road tests.

McDougall Energy is looking for a skilled 310T Truck and Coach Technician based out of our North Bay, ONshop. Reporting to the Shop Manager this role is an integral member of the team responsible for servicing our dedicated, internal fleet with a variety of makes, models and types of equipment. Responsibilities Include

• Performing Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) safety inspections on tractors and trailers in compliance with provincial regulations
• Assisting with and performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems (tractors)
• Inspecting, servicing, and repairing trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, lighting, ABS, and structural components
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic software (as applicable to experience level)
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and reliability
• Accurately documenting inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, including daily logs and service reports
• Assisting with parts identification and communicating repair needs to support efficient workflow
• Conducting post-repair inspections and supporting road testing to verify safe operation
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper use and care of tools and equipment
• Always following all occupational health and safety policies and procedures

About You
