Job summary

Lakeridge Health Bowmanville is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Casual Part Time) to join its Pharmacy Services team. The role supports drug distribution, patient safety and timely release of pharmaceuticals in a busy hospital setting.

8-hour shifts include days and weekends, across Bowmanville and Port Perry locations. Registration as an RPHT with OCP is required, with CCAPP-accredited education, plus knowledge of unit-dose dispensing and pharmacy automation.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT).
• Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP.
• Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes- traditional and unit dose.
• Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred.
• Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication; teamwork.
• Microsoft Office including Word and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy team and will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution.
• The Pharmacy Technician will work to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product and release.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support efficient dispensing and patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS
