Job summary

School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) invites applications for a temporary 1.143 FTE Science & PE Teacher at Stanley Humphries Secondary School.

The assignment covers Science 8 x 2, PE 8, and PE 9, from November 2, 2026 to December 4, 2026, with compensation in accordance with the collective agreement. Qualified candidates hold BC Certification and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent, plus a degree with major/minor in the above subjects.

Qualifications

• BC Certification required for teaching enrollment.
• Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent credential.
• Undergraduate degree with a major/minor in Science or Physical Education.
• Knowledge of the renewed curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Experience teaching Science and/or Physical Education.
• Experience using a variety of teaching and assessment strategies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science (8 x 2) and Physical Education (8, 9) at Stanley Humphries Secondary.
• Deliver engaging lessons and assess student progress in collaboration with staff.
• Work within the temporary assignment period: Nov 2, 2026 – Dec 4, 2026.
