Job summary

Sourcesbc is seeking a Youth Service Coordinator to join the Mental Health and Social Services team. This role focuses on organizing youth programs, providing trauma-informed support, and collaborating with community partners to reach and empower youth in Parksville, BC.

The candidate should be organized, understand adolescent development, and be able to work in a multidisciplinary team. Office and outreach duties are required, with a focus on skills development and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory: Social Services Diploma.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Criminology, Psychology).
  • Mandatory: 1 year experience in the Social Services Field.
  • Preferred: Two years’ experience providing support and outreach services to youth in the community.
  • Mandatory: Clear Criminal Records Check.
  • Mandatory: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Work with youth in the community by providing short term goal focused support.
  • Provide Youth Events to the community.
  • Community networking with other youth serving organizations.
  • Provide support to youth around life skills, relationships, emotional regulation and socialization through individual sessions.
  • Provide services both in office and through outreach.
  • Organize and facilitate group youth events that provide youth in the program opportunity to work on developing skills.
  • Collaborate with other youth serving organizations to coordinate services to youth in the community.

Physical Demands of Job
