Job summary

Strong Start Facilitator at School District 91 (Nechako Lakes) will work with families to support early literacy and numeracy in a play-based setting. The role emphasizes parent involvement, caregiver education, and connecting to community resources.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
  • Community Care Facilities BC License to practice.
  • Valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate.
  • 6 months experience as a licensed Early Childhood Educator working with children in the 0-5 age range and their caregivers.
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support families and caregivers in a play-based learning environment.
  • Facilitate parent and child participation and connect to community resources.

Education

Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
Certificate in Early Childhood Education
Community Care Facilities BC License to practice
Valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate
WHMIS 2015 Certificate

Summary:
  • The Strong Start Facilitator will concentrate on key aspects of family, literacy, numeracy, parent support and education, stages of early childhood development and community resource sharing.
  • The intention of the program is that parents and caregivers will participate alongside their children in a purposeful, play based environment.
Qualifications:
