Job summary

NEOFACS is seeking a Brighter Futures Worker to facilitate a range of topics with individuals and groups, promoting the agency's services to the public. The role supports life skills, parenting, prenatal care, nutrition, health and safety, and related topics aligned with program goals.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills, with bilingual English/French ability and a valid driver’s license or access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

  • A Social Service Worker diploma or post-secondary education in the Human Services discipline.
  • Knowledge of child development, neglect and child abuse and the duty to report.
  • Knowledge of parenting issues, lifestyles, and prevention/intervention techniques.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual English/French required.
  • G2 driver’s license at minimum; willingness to obtain G Class license or already possess one.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate topics in group settings or individually (life skills, parenting, prenatal, nutrition, health, safety, leisure housing, breastfeeding, labour and delivery).
  • Promote Brighter Futures services to participants and the general public.
  • Support program goals and engage with families in alignment with the agency’s philosophy.
  • Coordinate activities and communicate effectively with participants and partners.

Job description

As a member of the Brighter Futures team, the successful candidate will be required to facilitate topics either in a group setting or on an individual basis will include life skills, living skills, parenting, prenatal, nutrition, health, safety, leisure housing, breastfeeding, labour and delivery and other topics relevant to the philosophy and goals of the Brighter Futures program. The Brighter Futures Worker will promote the services of the Agency and the programs to the participants and general public.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):
  • A Social Service Worker diploma or post-secondary education in the Human Services discipline.
  • Knowledge of child development, neglect and child abuse along with the duty to report.
  • Knowledge of parenting issues, lifestyles, and prevention and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism is required (English/French).
  • Candidates must possess a minimum G2 driver’s license at the time of application and be willing to obtain a valid G Class driver’s license as a condition of employment or already possess a valid G Class driver’s license and have access to their own vehicle.
