Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an Expert Data Governance Advisor in Canada to operationalize governance practices across the enterprise. The role focuses on data quality, protection, lifecycle and value creation, with change support to business units, IT teams and stewardship networks.

The ideal candidate has experience building or operationalizing a data governance program and can articulate governance concepts to business and technical stakeholders while leading transformation efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience in data governance, data management, quality or protection, compliance, BI, or organizational transformation.
• Contributed to implementing or operationalizing data governance practices, processes, frameworks, or models.
• Understanding of governance roles (owners, delegates, stewards, IT).
• Produced structuring deliverables (frameworks, reference documents, guides, procedures).
• Ability to communicate, simplify and synthesize with business and technology stakeholders.

Overview:

• The client is looking for an advisor to help its datagovernance team move from intent to operations: its practices and frameworkspartly exist and now need to be deployed, documented and embedded across theorganization.
• The role covers data quality, protection, value creation andlifecycle.
• A large part of the mandate is about change support: helpingbusiness units, IT teams and the stewardship network take ownership of theowner, delegate and steward roles.
• The qualifications accept several backgrounds (datamanagement, quality, compliance, business intelligence, organizationaltransformation), but concrete contribution to implementing governance practicesis what separates candidates.
• The mandate is enterprise-wide, even though the team reportsto an EVP focused on strategy, customer experience and marketing.
• Candidate sought : someone who has already helped build oroperationalize a data governance program (roles, frameworks, glossaries orcatalogs, quality) and has written its reference deliverables. They can explainthese concepts to both business and technical stakeholders and exerciseinfluential leadership in a transformation context. Experience in insurance,financial services or with Law 25 is the main differentiator among the assets.

Requirements

• Experience in a complex, regulated or financial corporateenvironment

Asset:

• Knowledge of insurance, financial services, regulatorycompliance or Law 25 (described by the client as a "significantasset")
