Job summary

IFG International Financial Group Ltd is assisting a Top 5 Canadian Bank to hire a Data Lead - Capital Markets Data Governance for a 12-month contract. The role is hybrid, with in-office presence in downtown Toronto 2-3 days per week.

You will oversee data governance, quality, and metadata for capital markets data, coordinating with front office, risk, and technology stakeholders while translating complex concepts into business-friendly language.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Strong Capital Markets experience with knowledge of Front Office workflows and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite (Excel - VLOOKUP, pivot tables; Visio).
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS239, Dodd Frank, EMIR, MiFID, CAT NMS, and IIROC.

Must-Have Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Strong Capital Markets experience with knowledge of Front Office workflows and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite (Excel - VLOOKUP, pivot tables; Visio).
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology functions.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience working in a Big 5 Canadian Bank or similar financial institution.
• Technical expertise in SQL, Databricks, Alteryx.
• Familiarity with Purview or other enterprise data management tools.
• Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or with testing and data quality rule implementation.
