The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for a full‑time Teacher – Junior Division at St. Gregory, Grade 4/5 (English). Effective Immediately.

1.0 FTE position based in the Junior Division. Mandatory requirements include basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division. Preferred candidates will have literacy/numeracy instruction experience, knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum, and familiarity with Google Classroom and EDSBY.

TEACHER – JUNIOR DIVISION

ST. GREGORY

1.0 FTE

Grade 4/5 (English)

Effective Immediately

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division
Preferred Requirements:
  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
  • Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing structured literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY.
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
  • Understanding and commitment to the implementation of culturally responsive pedagogy and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into instruction.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the development of student individual profiles to support the planning of differentiated instruction for a range of student learning needs.
  • Commitment to being an active participant on the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties and familiarity with the school environment would be an asset
  • Special Education Part 1 would be an asset.
