Job summary

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for a Teacher - Long Term Occasional (LTO) at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall. Three sections for Semester 1 include ESLAO and English at ENG2D and ENG3U, effective Sept 2, 2026 to Feb 5, 2027.

Requirements include an honours degree or English qualification, plus experience with Catholic education principles and multiple LMS platforms such as Google, D2L Brightspace, EDSBY and CVO.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate and Senior Division - English.
• Honours degree and/or subject qualification in English would be considered an asset.
• Teaching experience and sound knowledge of the programs in these divisions and subject areas.
• Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum.
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, D2L Brightspace, EDSBY and CVO courses on the VLE, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents.
• Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices.
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school's Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC's, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching.
• Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support well-being, equity and inclusion.
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies.
• Flexibility to be assigned to other subject areas as the need arises.
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.
