Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, is seeking a Localization Specialist based in Brazil for a remote, project-based role focused on making digital products intuitive for Brazilian users. You will translate, adapt, and QA content in Brazilian Portuguese across product interfaces, websites, and educational materials.

You'll collaborate with engineering and international teams to ensure accurate, culturally relevant translations, help shape glossaries and style guidelines, and uphold consistency

Qualificações

• Native-level Brazilian Portuguese proficiency and excellent writing/editing
• Advanced English proficiency for understanding source materials and collaboration with international teams
• Experience in translation/localization of digital products, platforms, or websites
• Knowledge of i18n and l10n concepts (variables/placeholders, encoding, pluralization)
• Ability to manage multiple project-based requests within deadlines
• Experience with CAT tools or translation management systems is a plus

Responsabilidades

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vaga — Localization Specialist based in Brazil.

This is a remote, project-based opportunity focused on making digital products feel natural, clear, and culturally relevant for Brazilian users. You will translate, adapt, and quality-check product interfaces, websites, systems, and educational content in Brazilian Portuguese. The role combines linguistic expertise with an understanding of how localization works within digital products. You will collaborate closely with engineering and international teams to ensure translations work correctly in their technical and visual context. You will also help shape terminology, style guidelines, and localization practices for consistent communication across the product. The environment is international, collaborative, and project-driven, with flexible part-time engagement based on business needs. This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys combining language, technology, cultural adaptation, and attention to detail.

Accountabilities

• Translate, review, and culturally adapt product interfaces, UX copy, websites, internal systems, and related educational content for Brazilian Portuguese audiences.

• Review localized content directly within the product, checking context, formatting, truncation, variables, and overall user experience.

• Identify and report technical localization issues, including exposed tags, incorrectly formatted variables, encoding problems, and text that does not display correctly.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical constraints such as character limits, interface components, placeholders, and implementation requirements.

• Maintain and continuously improve Brazilian Portuguese glossaries, style guides, and translation memories to ensure consistent terminology.

• Work with international teams in English to clarify context, priorities, requirements, and deadlines for localization projects.

• Conduct linguistic quality assurance (LQA) across localized screens and user flows, comparing them with source content and identifying inconsistencies before release.

• Adapt educational and institutional content to Brazilian linguistic, cultural, and educational contexts, including locally appropriate expressions and references.

Requirements

• Native-level Brazilian Portuguese proficiency, with excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and sensitivity to tone and register.

• Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to understand source materials and technical documentation and communicate effectively with international and engineering teams.

• Previous experience in translation and/or localization of digital products, platforms, websites, software, systems, or similar content.

• General understanding of digital products and software development, sufficient to communicate effectively with technical teams about localization implementation and quality.

• Familiarity with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) concepts, including variables/placeholders, character limits, pluralization, and common translation file formats such as JSON, XML, .po, and .strings.

• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple project-based requests within defined deadlines.

• Experience with CAT tools or translation management systems such as Crowdin, Trados, memoQ, XTM, Lokalise, or Phrase is a plus.

• Familiarity with Git/version control, JSON, HTML, or other markup technologies is desirable.

• Background or experience in Languages, Translation, Linguistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantageous, particularly a combination of linguistic and technical expertise.

• Experience with EdTech products or educational content for Brazilian schools, as well as collaboration with engineering or product teams in Agile environments, is a plus.
