A Wabtec Brasil procura um engenheiro de software embarcado para atuar presencialmente em Contagem, MG. Você irá desenvolver, manter e testar BSPs, serviços de plataforma e aplicações middleware integrando com lógica de negócios.

Requisitos incluem formação em engenharia de software ou similar, experiência em Linux embarcado, C/C++, Python, Docker, e integração hardware/software. Será valorizada a disponibilidade para viagens e atuação cross-functional com várias equipes MCA.

Qualificações

• Formação em Engenharia de software, Ciência da Computação ou área relacionada.
• Experiência sólida como engenheiro de software em ambientes embarcados.
• Conhecimento de Linux embarcado, kernel Linux e interfaces de driver.
• Experiência com integração hardware/software e linguagens C/C++ e Python.

Responsabilidades

• Fornecer liderança técnica para manter altos padrões de qualidade de software.
• Planejar e atribuir tarefas para recursos MCA platform software.
• Desenvolver, manter e testar BSP, serviços de plataforma e aplicações middleware.
• Garantir robustez do software frente a configurações, desempenho e requisitos de segurança.
• Conduzir testes de unidade e integração de MCA Platform.

Job Description

Essa posição é para atuar em regime presencial em Contagem, Minas Gerais.

Who will you be working with?

You will be part of MCA (Modular Control Architecture) software team. The MCA SW architecture is highly flexible, made up of many modular software, application, and hardware elements. While flexibility adds opportunity and capability, it also adds complexity, driving the importance of a robust platform SW and communication strategy. MCA is built on MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) principles for requirements management and test cases with full traceability built into the MBSE model.

How will you make a difference?

This MCA Platform Software Engineer will focus on delivering and sustaining an integrated series of board support packages (BSP), core software services, and middleware applications that are foundational to the MCA architecture. The Engineer will contribute to the definition of the strategy on which technologies to leverage, which security practices to employ, and will be responsible for implementing those strategies. This responsibility is cross functional in nature and requires close collaboration amongst various MCA teams.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other Engineering discipline.
• Strong experience as a software engineer.
• Experience in developing, modifying, and debugging device drivers, bootloaders, or board support packages.
• Experience with Linux OS on embedded systems.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel internals (scheduling, memory management, IPC, file systems, etc.).
• Strong experience with hardware/software integration, Docker, languages such as C/C++, Bash, Python.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.

What will your typical day look like?

• Provide technical leadership to maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices, drive process and guide team to deliver consistently.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues, risks, or developments.
• Plan individual work for assigned MCA platform software features as input to project plans.
• Design, develop, maintain, and test MCA Platform SW: BSP, Platform Services, MCA Middleware applications to connect MCA Platform with Business Logic applications.
• Ensure MCA Platform SW is robust against expected configurability, performance, cyber security, and quality requirements.
• Review and refine control system-level requirements to understand design intent and reconcile with MCA Platform capabilities
• Derive MCA Platform software requirements and interfaces from system requirements, allocate them to MCA Platform software components.
• Develop, review, and execute hardware/software and software/software test plans for unit testing and MCA Platform integration testing.
• Lead and participate in MCA Platform software troubleshooting efforts to root cause failures and defects on the various test environments.
• Prepare and present technical design decisions and results to internal and external customers.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Support V&V through validation test cases execution on various test environments.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues, risks, or developments.
• Plan individual work for assigned MCA platform software features as input to project plans.
• Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
