Wabtec, atuando presencialmente em Contagem, MG, busca um líder técnico para orientar a equipe de desenvolvimento em soluções críticas para sistemas ferroviários. O profissional definirá a arquitetura, conduzirá revisões técnicas e supervisionará PRs, garantindo qualidade e aderência a padrões.

Você mentoring a equipe, gerenciará entrega dentro de prazos e impulsionará melhorias de pipelines CI/CD com VB.NET e SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Experiência sólida com VB.NET e SQL Server, incluindo tuning de consultas.
• Experiência comprovada em liderança técnica ou posição sênior.
• Conhecimento de arquitetura de software e padrões de design.
• Experiência prática com Azure DevOps (Repos, Boards, Pipelines) e CI/CD.
• Experiência em revisões de código e de design; capacidade de decisão técnica.
• Capacidade de definir soluções técnicas e trade-offs, com foco em entrega.
• Habilidade de resolver problemas, priorizar tarefas e cumprir prazos.
• Comunicação eficaz e colaboração com equipes multidisciplinares.

Responsibilities

• Definir a direção técnica da equipe, arquitetura e soluções críticas para ferroviários.
• Conduzir revisões de design, código e pull requests, assegurando padrões.
• Guiar entrega com VB.NET e SQL Server; mentorar a equipe.
• Colaborar com Product Owner e stakeholders para refinar requisitos.
• Desenhar, manter e melhorar pipelines de CI/CD no Azure DevOps.
• Acompanhar progresso e garantir entrega pontual de features e correções.
• Gerenciar riscos técnicos e gargalos; reduzir dívida técnica.
• Consolidar conhecimento sobre sistemas ferroviários entre as partes interessadas.

Job description

Essa posição é para atuar em regime presencial, em Contagem, MG.

Who will you be working with?

You will collaborate with Senior Developers, Mid-Level Developers, Junior Developers, QA Analysts, Product Owner, Project Management, and railway domain experts. You will act as the technical reference for the team, working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on delivering scalable, robust, and maintainable software solutions based primarily on VB.NET and SQL Server.

How will you make a difference?

You will lead the technical direction of the team, defining architecture and guiding the development of high‑quality mission‑critical solutions for railway systems. Those systems require safety concerns you will not find in regular scenarios. You will actively participate in design reviews, code reviews, and pull request approvals, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

You will influence both technical decisions and delivery execution, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Your role will be critical in mentoring the team, reducing technical debt, and ensuring systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.

What do we want to know about you?

Required

• Strong experience with VB.NET development.
• Solid experience with SQL Server, including queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in technical leadership or senior role.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Azure DevOps (Repos, Boards, Pipelines)
  • CI/CD implementation and management
• Strong experience conducting:
  • Code reviews
  • Design reviews
  • Technical analysis and pull request approvals
• Ability to define and evaluate technical solutions and trade‑offs.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and ensure delivery within deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fast learning skills to understand domain knowledge related to railway systems.
• Advanced English (mandatory).
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally, according to project and customer needs.

Desirable

• Experience with railway systems or train dispatching systems.
• Knowledge of mission‑critical or real‑time systems.
• Experience with legacy systems modernization.
• Familiarity with DevOps culture and automation strategies beyond CI/CD.
• Full‑stack knowledge is a plus.

Will your typical day look like?

• Define and review software architecture and technical solutions.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Perform code reviews and approve pull requests, ensuring high‑quality standards.
• Guide the team in implementing solutions using VB.NET and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Monitor development progress and ensure on‑time delivery of features and fixes.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and bottlenecks.
• Consolidate key stakeholders’ knowledge on railway systems.
