We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead Databricks‑based data and analytics projects for clients in Brazil.
This role requires a strong combination of project delivery, business understanding, and data platform knowledge. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience as Data Analysts, Business Analysts, Data Product Owners, or similar roles who have evolved toward project management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of data and analytics initiatives.
- Translate business needs into clear priorities, requirements, and delivery plans.
- Coordinate business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and architects.
- Manage roadmap, scope, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Facilitate discovery, prioritization, planning, and project follow‑up.
- Ensure delivery decisions remain connected to business value.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management, business analysis, data product management, or analytics delivery.
- Experience working with Databricks‑based projects.
- Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics, BI, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and governance.
- Ability to participate in both business and technical conversations.
- Experience managing data or software delivery teams using Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Fluent Portuguese and English.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or Data Product Owner.
- SQL, Power BI, Python, cloud, or Databricks hands‑on experience.
- Experience in consulting or professional services.
- Scrum, PMP, cloud, or Databricks certifications.
Technical Knowledge
The candidate is not expected to work as a hands‑on Data Engineer, but should be comfortable discussing:
- Modern data platform architecture, from source systems and ingestion through transformation, storage, analytics, and reporting.
- ETL/ELT pipelines, including dependencies, batch and streaming processing, failures, retries, monitoring, and data quality.
- Core Databricks concepts such as notebooks, Jobs and Workflows, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, compute, and development environments.
- Medallion architecture and the purpose of Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- SQL and data modeling fundamentals, including joins, aggregations, fact and dimension tables, and BI‑oriented models.
- BI and analytics concepts such as semantic models, KPIs, dashboards, refresh processes, permissions, and adoption.
- Data governance, including access control, ownership, lineage, cataloging, quality, and sensitive data handling.
- Cloud fundamentals related to storage, compute, identity, networking, managed services, and cost.
- APIs and system integrations.
- Git, pull requests, CI/CD, environments, and deployment processes.
- Platform operations, including performance, scalability, observability, incident management, and cost optimization.
The candidate should be able to follow technical discussions, identify delivery risks and dependencies, and translate technical decisions into clear business implications.
