Introduction

MANCOSA, a DHET registered and CHE accredited private higher education distance education provider, offering undergraduate and postgraduate business qualifications, has the following vacancy available.

CORE PURPOSE

To provide leadership and support to the Curriculum Development and Management Department by assisting the Line Manager with the various processes associated with new programme development, short learning programme development, professional body accreditation and responses to regulatory bodies within the department to ensure that MANCOSA meets its strategic objectives and goals.

CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
General Administration
  • Monitor and lead the daily, weekly, monthly deliverables of the coordinators to ensure that the assigned deliverables are completed on or before the scheduled deadline
  • Proactively identify risks and critical issues that might arise throughout the process
  • Lead process and systems (CDMS) enhancements that ensure continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Chair relevant Programme Advisory Committee (PAC), Programme Design, Development and Review (PDDR) Committee and other Curriculum Development and Management Meetings
  • Attend meetings and prepare reports on current projects
  • Build excellent relations with all internal and external academics and service providers
  • Consolidate monthly expenditure reports and ensure correctness
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting dashboards
  • Communicate progress on projects to key stakeholders through regular updates, reports, and presentations
  • Lead student query resolution to ensure timely responses
  • Plan and conduct trainings to support the learning and development of stakeholders
New Programme Development and Professional Body Applications
  • Lead the development of Programmes in line with the Institutions’ strategic vision, Regulatory Bodies’ standards and criteria
  • Lead the implementation of Teaching, Assessment, Learning and Curriculum Framework and Work Integrated Learning and Work Readiness Framework into curriculum
  • Lead the integration of curriculum transformation principles within curriculum, with a focus on inclusivity, decolonisation, diversity, accessibility, and student‑centred learning
  • Lead the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into curriculum where relevant, encouraging critical engagement with sustainability and social justice issues
  • Conduct ongoing research into best practices, emerging trends, and scholarly developments in the relevant discipline(s) to inform curriculum.
  • Use AI tools and technologies to support curriculum development and management (e.g., content ideation, assessment generation, learning analytics), ensuring ethical, responsible, and high‑quality use of AI.
  • Conduct and lead the coordination of new programme development, professional body applications, and response to conditions
  • Review documentation related to new programme development to ensure alignment with standard operating procedures
  • Ensure professional body accreditation, endorsement, MOU, or maintenance is complete as per the guidelines provided
  • Lead and monitor the development of responses to conditions and/or representations (where applicable) when feedback is received from the respective regulator
  • Lead and monitor the development and review of Short Learning Programmes ensuring alignment with the institution’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives
Regulatory Bodies
  • Prepare for and ensure attendance at any site visits relating to the academic programmes
  • Actively participate in CHE Audit and site visits together with the other members of Management
  • Participate in any Regulatory Body activity
Qualifications
  • Preferred Qualification: Master’s
EXPERIENCE
  • Essential experience: At least 3 year’s higher education work experience, and understanding of curriculum and regulatory compliance
  • Preferred experience: At least 3 to 5 year’s higher education work experience, and understanding of curriculum and regulatory compliance
