JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Assistant Manager to support tax business partnering across the following markets:

Why This Role Matters

Your role ensures we meet financial goals and comply with regulations while driving tax optimization and leveraging technology. The Tax Assistant Manager will work with the Tax Manager to provide in-market/regional tax advice on challenges and opportunities, oversee local planning, review and approve compliance and reporting (via third-party services), respond to tax authority challenges, and optimize the tax position within legal frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure adherence to global tax strategies, policies, and risk management aligned with business objectives and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on direct and indirect tax implications of new initiatives, M&A, cross-border transactions, contracts, and corporate projects.
  • Manage in-market/regional tax audits and controversies, working with external advisors and central tax teams to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Oversee timely and accurate tax return filings, review, and sign-offs, coordinating with the global shared service center.
  • Identify and mitigate local tax risks, maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance and prevent penalties.
  • Monitor legislative changes, assess impacts, and advise management accordingly.
  • Contribute local insights into enterprise-wide systems design decisions, such as S/4HANA.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese (native or advanced proficiency)
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor, or equivalent
  • Proven tax experience in a large multinational or Big 4 firm
  • Strong knowledge of tax within consumer goods sector
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate internally and externally
  • Curious, adaptable, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
