Tax Coordinator Brazil

If you are in the Unilever Ice Cream business or are considering working for the Unilever Ice Cream business, you will work for the global, leading Ice Cream player with €8bn Turn Over in 2023. The Ice Cream business operates in a highly attractive category, as part of the €1 trillion snacking and refreshment industry, growing at a high pace. We own strong brand equities: 5 of the top 10 selling brands including Wall’s, Magnum, Ben & Jerry’s. We are investing to unlock the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity, planned for separation from Unilever by November 2025. JOB PURPOSE:

We seek a highly motivated Tax Assistant Manager to support tax business partnering in the following markets:

Why This Role Matters:

Your role ensures we meet financial goals, comply with regulations, and optimize taxes by working with the Tax Manager on in-market/regional advice, overseeing local compliance, and responding to tax authority challenges, while ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance with global tax strategy, policies, and risk management, aligned with business objectives and regulations.
  • Provide advice on tax implications of new initiatives, M&A, cross-border transactions, contracts, and corporate projects.
  • Manage in-market tax audits and disputes, working with external advisors and central tax teams for efficient resolution.
  • Oversee timely and accurate filing of tax returns, working with third-party services and global tax teams.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks, maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance and prevent penalties.
  • Monitor legislative changes, advising management on impacts and mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute local insights to enterprise-wide systems design decisions.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Tax Advisor
  • Proven tax experience in a large MNC or Big 4 firm
  • Knowledge of tax matters in consumer goods
  • Strong communicator and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and curious mindset
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
