JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Assistant Manager to support tax business partnering across specific markets.

Why This Role Matters:

Your role ensures we meet financial goals, comply with regulations, and optimize tax strategies, leveraging technology. The Tax Assistant Manager will work with the Tax Manager to provide regional tax advice, oversee local compliance and reporting (via third-party services), respond to tax authority challenges, and ensure the business maximizes tax efficiency within legal frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Tax Manager, you will:

• Ensure local adherence to global tax strategies and risk management aligned with business objectives and regulations.
• Provide advice on tax implications of new initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, cross-border transactions, contracts, and corporate projects.
• Manage local tax audits and disputes, working with external advisors and central tax teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Oversee timely and accurate filing of tax returns, review deliverables, and coordinate with shared service centers.
• Identify and mitigate local tax risks, maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance and prevent penalties.
• Monitor legislative changes, advise management on impacts, and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Contribute local insights into enterprise system design decisions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Experiences & Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese (native or advanced)
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor
• Proven tax experience within a large MNC or Big 4 firm
• Strong knowledge of tax matters in consumer goods
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability
• Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and adaptability
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
