Job summary

AVANTSI SEMITECH PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Optical Systems Engineer to design and develop advanced optical systems for semiconductor packaging and test equipment.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions from prototype to production. The role requires hands-on experience in optical path design, component selection, and alignment, with 8+ years in optical system design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in optical system design and integration.
• Hands-on experience in optical path design, component selection, alignment, and testing.
• Strong independent problem-solving abilities and initiative in complex technical challenges.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese communication is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optical systems for semiconductor packaging and test equipment to meet performance and integration requirements.
• Select and specify optical components including lenses, cameras, light sources, filters, and beam splitters for system optimization.
• Perform optical alignment, assembly, testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality and quality.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate optical systems into complete equipment solutions.
• Support prototype development, equipment qualification, and production troubleshooting to maintain product reliability.
• Lead optical system development and make technical decisions to drive project success based on experience.
