Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Manager to lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure software development best practices are followed, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality software.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues, and drive process improvements.
• Support career development of team members through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic technical decisions.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment on short‑ and long‑term projects.
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English (Advanced).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to sell the Architecture to key Stake Holders.
• Good presentation skills.
• Product knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs Onshore and Offshore.
• Cyber security framework knowledge.
• Ability to recommend improvements / resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and product functionality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience.
• Prior oilfield experience in Drilling or Subsea Systems.
• 5+ years proven experience in software development and team leadership.
