About the Role

As the Automation & Control System Engineer at HMH, you will design and develop advanced control solutions for cutting‑edge equipment and systems within the oil and gas industry. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support the reliability, innovation, and enhancement of our digital technology portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software solutions for HMH control systems and products.
• Ensure seamless integration of solutions with other products and systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and diligently manage software deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with the aftermarket team to support our installed base.
• Uphold HMH’s vision, values, strategies, policies, and standards in all professional activities.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Systems, Computer, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in HMI software (e.g., WinCC, Cimplicity), programming languages (e.g., VBA, C++, C#), Siemens PLC platforms using Simatic Classic/TIA Portal and DasyLab, PLC languages (FEB, STL, SCL, and other structural languages), industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus), process and/or machine control systems in an industrial environment, application within the oil and gas industry—particularly offshore drilling equipment and pressure control systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, database management (e.g., SQL), instrumentation and electrical circuits (preferred).
• Skills: Strong analytical and effective communication skills (English and Portuguese), proven ability to collaborate and thrive within cross‑disciplinary teams, highly organized, detail‑oriented, and dedicated to delivering reliable, high‑quality solutions.
